This is a community for friends & supporters of Israel. It is intended as a forum for those earnestly concerned about the past, present and future of the Jewish people, who recognize that the right to self-determination is an inalienable right for all and who recognize both the historical and moral justice of the Zionist idea: An exiled, persecuted and long-suffering people seeking refuge in the land of their ancestors.
While this is not a debate community, principled criticisms of Israeli policy will be allowed. However, this community will not be overrun by "anti-Zionist" Jew-baiters whose only aim is to harass members of this community and stifle the pro-Israeli expression on its pages. Rudeness and/or disrespect will not be tolerated.
Some posts may be visible to friends only, so new members are encouraged to add the community to their friends list.
The neighborhood bully just lives to survive, He's criticized and condemned for being alive. He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin, He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in. He's the neighborhood bully.--Neighborhood Bully, song about Israel's struggle written by friend of Israel, Bob Dylan
Anti-Israel? You're in good company!
The Mufti of Jerusalem Amin Al Husseini (Arafat's great uncle) inspects his Muslim Nazi troops & gives Nazi salute in 1943. After the war, he will preside over the Arab League and the World Islamic Congress.
Appointed Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini was the key nationalist figure among Muslims in the area that is currently being identified as Palestine & considered by most to be the founder of the Palestinian nationalist movement. He collaborated with the Nazis during WWII, helping to recruit & raise 2 Muslim SS units in the Balkans, which would go on to kill some 100,000 Jews. He even visited Hitler in an effort to persuade him to extend the Nazis’ anti-Jewish program to the Arab world. Following WWII despite being wanted as a war criminal by Yugoslavia, he would go on to lead the Palestinian Arab Higher Committee which rejected the U.N. Partition of '47 & was recognized by the Arab world as the "legitimate gov't of Palestine". He was Yassir Arafat's great uncle.
And now the Palestinian people have elected a terrorist organization to represent them? Is this a sincere gesture of peace?
I am not Israeli. I am not Jewish. I am not a Christian. I am not a Republican. I have just educated myself & know the truth about Israel.
Shalhevet Techiya Pass
This community is dedicated to the memory of Shalhevet Techiya Pass & the hundreds of other victims of terror in Israel. Shalhevet was a beautiful 10-month old baby who lived with her family in the holy city of Hebron. One evening her parents were home preparing to take baby Shalhevet to visit her grandparents. Sadly, the visit would never occur. Shalhevet was placed in a stroller inches from her father while her mother finished packing for the trip in another room. While the family prepared for what they thought would be a happy family outing a Palestinian sniper caught baby Shalhevet in the crosshairs of his high-powered rifle. He fired a bullet which tore through Shalhevet's tiny skull. Shalhevet's father was shot in the leg. IDF soldiers & paramedics made valiant efforts to save her, but in the end baby Shalhevet lost her life. When the sniper was apprehended he admitted he was specifically aiming for the baby.
